Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 24 September 2026

These terms apply to quotations, orders and supply of custom-printed paper products by Castle Paper. By placing an order you accept them. If you order on behalf of a company, you confirm that you are authorised to do so.

Quotations and pricing

Quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise, and are based on the specification, quantity and delivery date discussed. Changes to paper, finishing, quantity or size may change the price. Prices are quoted exclusive of shipping, duties and taxes unless expressly stated.

Artwork and proof approval

  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the artwork, text, spelling, logos and legal statements you supply.
  • You confirm that you own or are licensed to use all artwork, fonts and trademarks in your files.
  • Production begins only after you approve the digital proof in writing. Approval confirms specification, quantity and content; once approved, changes may no longer be possible.

Colour and finishing tolerances

Printing on paper and board involves normal production variation. Colour may vary slightly between runs, between different papers and compared with on-screen proofs. Foil stamping, letterpress and die-cutting are hand-finished processes and small variations in registration, impression depth and edge finish are normal. We aim to keep variation within industry-accepted tolerances, and where a job is particularly colour-critical we recommend a physical sample approval before the main run.

Quantities

Custom printing is produced as a run. We normally deliver within ±5% of the ordered quantity for paper and board products, and invoice accordingly, in line with standard printing practice. Coasters and cup sleeves are supplied in full cartons unless agreed otherwise.

Payment

  • New orders normally require a deposit before production, with the balance payable before dispatch, unless credit terms have been agreed in writing.
  • Invoices are payable in the currency and within the period stated on the invoice.
  • Ownership of goods passes on payment in full; risk passes on delivery.

Cancellation, changes and returns

  • Orders may be changed or cancelled before production starts; work already carried out, artwork preparation and materials ordered may be charged.
  • Because every item is produced to your specification, custom orders cannot be returned or refunded once produced and approved, unless the goods are faulty or differ from the approved proof.

Lead times and delivery

Lead times are estimates given in good faith and start from proof approval. Delays caused by carriers, customs, material shortages or events outside our control do not entitle the buyer to cancel an order or claim compensation, though we will always work to minimise the impact.

Claims

Claims for defective goods, shortages or items that do not match the approved proof must be made within 14 days of delivery, with photos and the order reference. Where a claim is accepted, our obligation is limited to repairing, replacing or crediting the affected items.

Liability

Our liability in relation to any order is limited to the value of that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost business or the cost of substitute products. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Intellectual property and portfolio use

You retain ownership of your artwork and trademarks; we own the production files we create. We may photograph finished work for our portfolio and social media unless you ask us in writing not to. Requests to keep a project confidential are respected.

Force majeure

We are not in breach of these terms if a delay or failure is caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural events, transport disruption, industrial action, customs action or supplier failure.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Castle Paper is established, and disputes are subject to the courts of that jurisdiction. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
