Product Overview
Key Features
✅ A Pin Back, Not an Adhesive Back
The sample uses a metal safety-style pin back bonded to the reverse of the disc, which is what makes a paper badge reusable. Peel-and-stick badges are cheaper, but they are a one-shot item: the adhesive takes the paper fibres with it when it comes off, and a badge that has to move from a jacket to a bag is finished after one move. With a pin back the badge can be worn at the show, taken off, and pinned again next season, which matters for anything that has to survive a three-day event or a term of club meetings. Magnetic and clip backings are available if the badge will go on a shirt where a pin hole is not acceptable.
✅ Letterpress Impression in Thick Cotton Paper
The disc is built from cotton paper with enough bulk to take an impression and keep it – a thin card springs back and the relief flattens within weeks. Cotton fibre compresses under the die and holds the compressed shape, so the impression stays crisp instead of fading, and the uncoated surface keeps a soft, slightly fibrous edge where an ordinary printed badge shows a printed edge instead. Because no ink is involved, the finished badge is one colour front and back and the design reads purely as depth and shadow. If you want the artwork in colour as well, the same die can run a coloured letterpress pass or a foil hit, then blind-press the outline.
✅ Die-Cut Circle Registration
The round cut and the impression are made against the same register, so the artwork sits concentric in the disc instead of drifting to one edge between runs. That is the difference between a badge that looks made and a badge that looks trimmed: on a small circle a two-millimetre offset is immediately obvious. The die-cut also leaves a clean, slightly compressed edge, which suits the material far better than a guillotined straight cut ever could.
✅ Several Designs From One Run
The sheet in the second photo shows the practical side of this: five different faces were pressed and punched from one sheet in one pass. That is how paper badges get ordered – a set of characters, a set of department logos, a set of sponsor marks – rather than one single design. Because the diameter and the die-cut stay fixed, a mixed set still comes out as one consistent family, with the same paper tone and the same impression depth across every disc. A set is counted by total quantity rather than by design, so a six-design order and a one-design order at the same volume are quoted on the same basis.
✅ Fully Customizable
Diameter, paper tone and weight, impression depth, number of colours and backing type are all made to order, and the outline does not have to be a circle – a shaped die-cut works exactly as well and only changes the cutting die. Artwork can be a line drawing, a logo, a mascot or a repeat pattern. Pin backs can be supplied bonded and ready to wear, or shipped loose if you would rather assemble locally.

Application Scenarios
- Campus and school – orientation week and freshers fairs, where a set of character badges gives students a reason to take one; club and society recruitment, where each society wants its own mark in the same format; graduation, reunion and alumni events; sports day and volunteer crews, where a pin badge identifies staff without a printed lanyard card; teachers day and school anniversary gifts; student union merchandise sold at cost.
- Conferences, trade shows and events – attendee and speaker badges worn alongside a lanyard, exhibitor and sponsor marks, press and media kits, product launch invitations, pop-up shops and makers markets, workshop name badges that get kept instead of binned, music and club nights, wedding favours and place settings.
- Brand and retail – coffee shop and bookshop counter giveaways, record store and gallery merchandise, membership and loyalty packs, packaging inserts for online orders, staff aprons and uniforms, press packs where a metal or plastic pin would feel out of place.
